Recycling is a
great
habit to have...
pass it on. |
|
Did you know that:
-
It takes 2 ½ ounces of oil to make a new inkjet cartridge.
-
It takes 3 ½ quarts of oil to make a new toner/laser cartridge.
-
Plastics used in cartridges can take over 10 centuries (over 1000 years) to
decompose.
-
In North America alone, over 350,000,000 cartridges per year are discarded in
our landfills.
-
In one year, if the world's discarded cartridges were stacked end-to-end, they
would circle the earth over three times.
-
Recycling saves over 38,000 tons of plastic and metal from our landfills each
year.
-
In one year, if all the discarded toner cartridges were stacked in a pile they
would be taller than the Sears Tower, one of the world's tallest buildings.
-
Unfortunately, only 5% of all empty inkjet cartridges are currently being
recycled.
-
One school can use 300 cartridges per year.
-
Each student will use a minimum of 2 to 4 cartridges per year.
-
A medium-sized business can use 3,600 cartridges per year.
-
Recycling can save us tax dollars-remember we pay taxes for landfills. So
recycle and save.
